TFF & TFT seek closer collaboration ...

TFF and TFT’s  Sign New  MOU.


The recent signing of an MOU between the Tropical Forest Foundation and The Forest Trust lays the foundation for a more effective assistance to the Kalimantan timber concessions of PT Belayan River Timber and PT Narkata Rimba.

TFF has been working with both concessions since early 2009 to assist the Management in moving towards FSC forest certification.  This engagement took on a much greater significance in 2010 when both concession companies joined The Borneo Initiative(TBI) certification assistance funding platform with TFF as lead technical advisor. With the signing of the TFF-TFT MOU, new resources and market expertise has been brought to the table to support the development of additional market opportunities and strengthen certification efforts.

This MOU is the second such collaborative agreement in the past year between TFF and TFT.  The first such agreement signed in September, 2010, calls for a close collaboration in technical assistance and mark linking for the Papua concession of PT Mamberamo Alasmandiri.  For more information on TFT, visit www.tft-forests.org.
